Texas legislation does not provide state funding for any course for which a student enrolls more than two times, regardless of grade received. Austin Community College (ACC) charges a Third Course Attempt Fee for the following:

• Courses with the same or substantially similar content.
• Courses that have been attempted more than twice.
• Graded and/or courses dropped after the College census.

The Third Course Attempt Fee does not affect developmental, special topics, and other state approved courses. Refer to the Third Course Attempt Exemptions page for a listing of courses that are exempt from the third attempt fee.
